Ron joined Still Waters in May of 2012, bringing a wealth of experience in the counseling, education and correctional fields. He holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy from Western Michigan University and is a certified special education teacher, parent educator, and authority in early childhood instruction.
Ron has extensive experience with the developmentally disabled, serving as Director of Programs at the former Fort Custer State Home for the Developmentally Disabled, the Coldwater Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled and the Muskegon Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled.
He also has expertise working with troubled adolescents and has taught Aggression Replacement Training to teen offenders in juvenile facilities.
After a lifetime of serving others, Ron and his wife still find time to enjoy their seven daughters and 23 grandchildren. He joined the staff at Still Waters Counseling with the goal of “helping to bring peace to a troubled world.” Ron is always smiling and in a good mood, and is eager to tell a joke as well as to further hone his clinical skills.
